Network It's the mix: Our “Rhine, Sea, and Land” service.

There's no question about it: Trucks are and will remain indispensable in the transport modality mix. Especially for shorter distances, there is usually no alternative. Nevertheless, the disadvantages of road transport are just as unmistakable: a lack of planning reliability due to time-consuming traffic jams, a sub-optimal road infrastructure and, last but not least, the rather unfavourable ecological balance.

The truck only becomes economical, flexible and ecologically compatible when combined in intelligent interaction with ship- and rail transport.

CTS Container Terminal GmbH, as a centrally located multifunctional hub, enables this intermodal connection: for efficient and cost-effective transport within the region, and to numerous European destinations.

State-of-the-art capabilities, with cumulative, mature expertise.

Optimal transport connections -- generous transhipment capacities.

CTS Container Terminal GmbH is the largest trimodal container terminal along the Rhine, and currently also the largest transhipment facility of the neska intermodal group.

Its location on the federal waterway, and direct connections to the rail network and five major autobahns, open up a wide range of logistical possibilities for the various modes of transport. Located at the port of Cologne-Niehl, CTS is a central hub in one of Germany's most important economic and industrial regions. The handling of railway products is one of our major business areas.

With daily train- and barge departures, we transport goods by rail to the German seaports and to Rotterdam, and by barge to Rotterdam and Antwerp.

On an area of more than 130,000 m², we have large storage capacities with extensive options for storing various loading units and goods of all kinds. Security is a top priority: The entire area is fenced in and video-monitored. The four terminal areas are managed by five container gantry cranes and eight reach stackers, among other equipment.

With optimal transport connections via land and water, and comfortable, generous capacities and modern technical equipment, CTS offers the ideal conditions for successful logistics.

In 2019, we handled a total of over 400,000 TEU for our customers.
